For over a decade, the International Clinical Skills Conference has been a consistently high quality conference for clinical educators and researchers. The eighth conference was held in May 2019, convened by an International, multi-professional steering committee and co-ordinated by the International Clinical Skills Foundation (Inc) charity, in conjunction with Monash University.
The conference was again held at Monash University’s Prato campus in Italy and included a diverse range of experienced keynote speakers, oral presentations and workshops on all aspects of clinical skills education and research. The venue, Palazzo Vaj, is ideal for hosting this friendly, boutique event with ample opportunities to network and discuss ideas with established names in clinical education. The 9th Conference is already in planning for hosting in 2021. Our Resources page has details & video of latest (and previous) Key Note speakers presentations for you to view and gain further insight into the conference, its aims and educational value.
I never would have thought sitting at the ICSC 10 years ago that I would be here today! The shared knowledge, the diversity in clinical education has enriched my understandings and wisdom.
Best of is the connections with colleagues that have been most rewarding. Sharing with ‘K’ about this conference back in late 2010 has seen us co present at subsequent ICSCs. This year not only is she here again, she has spread the delights of this conference to her colleagues who are with her at ICSC7!
The first time I came to the conference I did not purchase a ticket to the conference dinner. My Monash colleague graciously offered to pay may way using some “spare research dollars” so I wouldn’t miss the experience. This represented to me the generous collaborative spirit of this conference. Clear I’ve never forgotten it and I’ve never missed another conference dinner.
